🌟 Sharks at the Sydney FC Kiama Football Festival! 🌟

Our U08s boys took the field on Saturday against some fierce competition — 16 teams from across Sydney and the Illawarra region.

Across a huge day of football:

7 games played
6 wins, 1 loss
35 goals scored
Ranked 3rd overall

The boys played with heart, spirit, and sportsmanship — and we couldn’t be prouder of the effort they gave.

Goals, saves, and teamwork lit up the pitch, but the real highlight was they had an absolute blast! That’s what Sharks football is all about! Its not always about winning, its about how you play the beautiful game.

Thank you Kiama, such a stunning part of the world, you really turned it on, absolutely cracking day and we reckon the boys’ bright pink jerseys stole the show. 💖

While we didn’t take home the trophy, we were lucky winners of the signed Sydney FC XBOX at the post-tournament Sydney FC event at Kiama Leagues Club.

A massive thank you to Sydney FC and Kiama Junior Football Club for hosting such a fantastic weekend of football and fun. See you again in 2026!

What an Epic Day for the Sharks!

A huge thank you to all our members who came out to celebrate our MiniRoos and Juniors at the 2025 Trophy Presentation. The sun was shining, the football fun was non-stop, and the atmosphere was unreal! With over 250 people in attendance, it was the biggest Sharks celebration in our history. 🩷🦈⚽

Special thanks go to our incredible committee for delivering such a well-organised event, and to our 2026 coaching partner Sydney FC for their support, prizes (who doesn’t love a signed A-League ball?), and of course their amazing Sky Blue inflatable pitch.

👏 Coach Tony for running high-energy games and skill sessions
🎤 Alanah, our MC extraordinaire, for keeping the day on track
🦈 Awesome Jawesome, the kids’ favourite toothy mascot, for bringing the Sharks spirit

U12/5 Mixed Boys – Grand Final Champions! 4-1 winners over Hills Hawks,

U13/2 Girls – 1–0 victory over North Ryde SC (free kick top corner winner!)

U16/1 Girls – 1–0 victory over All Saints Hunters Hill FC (last 30 seconds winner – edge-of-your-seat football!)

Mixed All Age 7 – Club derby classic, GLS Pink defeating GLS Black 1–0

Masters – Grand Final Champions 3-0 winners over Macquarie Dragons, adding to an incredible run of 4 minor premierships in a row and 3 championships in 4 years

⚽️ Grand Final Champions – U16/1 Girls! 🦈

What a game at Christie Park 2! Our Gladesville Sharks U16/1s and minor premiers, faced All Saints Hunters Hill in a nail-biting Grand Final that had the crowd on the edge of their seats from the first whistle to the last.

It was an even, hard-fought contest, with both sides creating chances. All Saints thought they had found the breakthrough twice, but both goals were correctly denied for offside. The Sharks kept their composure, showing grit and determination to stay in the fight.

And then… with just 30 seconds left on the clock, the Sharks pulled off an incredible play to smash home the winning goal! 💥 Christie Park erupted as the girls sealed a 1–0 victory in true dramatic fashion. 🏆

This wasn’t just a win — it was a display of heart, teamwork, and never giving up until the final whistle.

👏 Congratulations to the players, coaches Chris Loring & Alistair McKeough, and all the supporters who lifted the girls through an unforgettable season. The Sharks are champions, and they earned it the hard way!

⚽️ Grand Final Champions – U13/2 Girls! 🦈

What a morning at Pennant Hills Park as our Gladesville Sharks U13/2s took on North Ryde in their Grand Final.

In their first season on the full-size pitch, with new players stepping up to form a strong squad, the girls showed exactly what Sharks football is all about — speed, fitness, teamwork, and heart.

The Sharks held possession for most of the game, and it was a stunning free kick smashed into the top corner that sealed the deal. From there, the girls showed maturity, composure, and grit to keep North Ryde out and bring the trophy home. 🏆

This is a team built on integrity, fair play, and tenacity. The future of women’s football at Gladesville Sharks is shining bright with this talented group leading the way! 🩷🦈⚽

⚽️ Grand Final Wrap – U14/1 Girls 🦈

It was a perfect winter’s day at West Epping Oval as our Gladesville Sharks U14/1s lined up for their Grand Final clash against the powerhouse Normanhurst Eagles.

The Sharks came prepared for an epic battle, and every player gave their all. 🩷 ⚽ Against a side that had dominated the season, our girls showed heart, teamwork, and determination — holding Normanhurst at bay for most of the match.

In the end, it was the tightest result of the year, with the Sharks going down 1–0. Despite the scoreline, this was a performance to be proud of. The girls grew stronger every week through the season, and the future looks incredibly bright. 🌟

👏 Huge congratulations to the players, coach Vince Pirina and manager Jenny Nagle, and all the families for their support. We can’t wait to see this team go even further in 2026!
