MiniRoos 2026 Season Update: What Happens Next

We are thrilled to officially welcome all our MiniRoos families to the 2026 season at Gladesville Sharks FC. Whether this is your child’s very first year of football or you are returning for another season, we are excited to have you as part of the Sharks community.

Here is everything you need to know about what happens next.

Team Formation Underway

Teams are currently being formed and finalised across all MiniRoos age groups.

This year we have seen fantastic growth, especially in the U05 to U07 age brackets, with many newly created teams coming together. It is an exciting time for the club, and we are looking forward to seeing these young players begin their football journey.

Once teams are confirmed, families will be notified and the season will begin to take shape.

Volunteers Needed: Coaches and Managers

With so many new teams forming, we are actively seeking volunteer coaches and managers.

No experience is necessary. You will be supported by Sydney FC through our in club development program, as well as by the club committee and experienced coaches. Guidance, resources and mentoring will be available to help you feel confident in the role.

We enthusiastically encourage your involvement. Please do not be shy. Our club relies on volunteers to make teams possible, and the kids truly need you. If you have even a small interest in helping, we would love to hear from you.

Stepping forward is one of the most rewarding ways to be part of your child’s football journey.

Team Communication

Once teams are formalised, WhatsApp groups will be created for each team.

These groups will allow coaches and managers to share:

  • Training updates

  • Match day information

  • Wet weather notifications

  • General team communication

Clear communication helps the season run smoothly and keeps everyone connected.

Training Information

MiniRoos training will take place on Tuesday evenings between 5:00pm and 7:00pm at Morrison Bay Park.

Sydney FC coaches will coordinate closely with team coaches as part of our Sky Blue Pathways in club training program. Specific time allocations for each team and age group will be confirmed and communicated soon.

This partnership ensures players receive structured, age appropriate coaching within a supportive and fun club environment.

You can learn more about our programs here:

Kits and Gear

Player and training kits will be distributed in late February or early March.

We will provide full details on collection dates and times once confirmed. Seeing the kids in their Sharks kit is always a special moment and a proud milestone for families.

We Are Here to Support You

We are here to support you and your child’s football journey from the very first kick. We are genuinely excited to have you as part of the Sharks family and cannot wait to see the MiniRoos in action this season.
